I was laying in bed one cool April night. It was raining and I could hear the heavy pellets hitting my windowsill. I felt numb and at a loss… it was then that I turned to my husband and said,
“What if I can’t get pregnant?”
I had one child already from when I was very young. So I had always assumed it would be easy for me. But I was now 33 years old.
I had spent the last 10 years working on my career. I put myself through school, climbed my way up the ladder and I was one of the top social workers at my company.
I thought I had it all... but little did I know, my physical body was aging faster than my heart and mind. I wanted nothing more than to heal my body so that I could “have it all”... the family, the home and the vibrant life filled with love and laughter.
So I did what most women do… I threw myself into research. Everything from health and nutrition, to insurance and financial loans.
I struggled every step of the way… but I got there!
And when I did, I found out that hormones would cost me nearly $5,000 to start, and bloodwork was an additional $3,000… all out of pocket!
I started searching for “loopholes”, appealing denied claims and leveraging my good credit to apply for bigger loans and “secret” programs. I quickly became an expert at navigating the complex world of healthcare, in the United States of America.

I used to question God/Universe… Why am I going through this? What did I ever do to deserve this? Haven’t I struggled enough?
